thought i should explain a little bit more what i mean with my blog title.
i refer to two movements when i say "Bible to Life." the first movement is to bring the biblical text from its ancient context to life for my students. the second movement is to bring the Bible from an academic setting where the students simply learn about the Bible to real life, where students begin to live the Bible.
it is this dual movement that i am praying to help my students make in class: to read the Bible not simply in order to pass the class, but to read the Bible in order to live the life we've been called to and created for in Christ.
this is not easy.
but it is vital. without it, our Christian life becomes an extended guessing game, a stumbling around in the dark, hoping we're headed the right direction. we need this movement. from the Bible, to Life.

a journey of a thousand miles...
begins with a blog. well, maybe not usually, but definitely so in this case.
i am currently in my first year teaching Bible at a christian school, and while i have immensely enjoyed it, i know i have so many things to learn. so many new ways of dealing with people, so much...everything.
as i said, i have along journey ahead of me, and i have to start somewhere. so here i am. trying to bring the Bible to life
